OMEGA CW MIRABELLA

* Further to our initial report, we have received the following updated information concerning the collision between bulk carrier, OMEGA and bulk carrier, MIRABELLA.

* It is reported that OMEGA capsized as a consequence of the ingress of water to the vessel's hold.

* Further reports indicate that MIRABELLA also sustained water ingress as a consequence of the collision but currently remains afloat at anchor in a position of safety. Numerous tugs are currently attending the vessels.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board either of these vessels so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.

* We have received reports that bulk carrier, OMEGA was in collision with bulk carrier, MIRABELLA in a position approximately 16 nautical miles north of the estuary of the Yangtze River, China on 23 January 2024.

* MIRABELLA is a bulk carrier loaded with approximately 45,000 metric tons of iron ore and is believed to have been en route from Tuticorin, India to Taicang, China at the time of the collision.

* It is reported that OMEGA sustained water ingress as a result of a breach of the no. 5 cargo hold and is in danger of sinking.

* There are currently no reports of the extent of damage, if any, to MIRABELLA.

* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board these vessels so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
