LIBERTAS-H

* We have received reports that container ship, LIBERTAS-H was in collision with general cargo ship SEA LEADER off Kefalonia island, Greece on 6 September 2023.

* SEA LEADER is a 2007 built general cargo ship with a gross tonnage of 5,197 tonnes. At the time of the incident the vessel was proceeding from Corigliano Calabro (Italy) to Aliaga (Turkey) and may have been loaded with up to 9,980 cubic metres of general cargo and 331 TEUs of containerised and temperature sensitive cargo.

* It is reported that both vessels sustained damage as a consequence of the collision. A fire is reported to have been ignited on board LIBERTAS-H which has since been extinguished.

* Both vessels have moved to Kefalinia Bay for inspection.

* It is possible that General Average and Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.
