BRUFJELL

* We have received reports that general cargo ship, BRUFJELL experienced a steering gear failure and ran aground on the southern embankment of the Kiel Canal, near Duckerswisch, Germany on 30 August 2023.

* It is reported that the vessel was able to refloat and move to Duckerswisch under its own power but was later taken under tow by tugs to Brunsbuttel, Germany.

* The vessel is currently undergoing inspection at Brunsbuttel.

* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.

* We therefore recommend that you contact us if you are concerned with any cargo on board this vessel so that we can immediately start taking steps to protect your interests.
