BW LESMES

* We have received reports that LNG Tanker, BW LESMES ran aground while navigating the Suez Canal on 22 August 2023.

* It is reported that the vessel was later re-floated on 23 August 2023. However, following the incident, crude oil tanker, BURRI collided with BW LESMES at low speed.

* It is reported that no structural damage was sustained by BW LESMES as a result of the collision, but the vessel was later taken under tow by tug to Suez South anchorage for inspection. BURRI was also taken by tow to Suez anchorage having reportedly suffered damage to its rudder.

* It is possible that General Average/Salvage and associated Recovery issues may arise as a result of this incident.
